# How Topokki works

> The simple difference between swaps, V2 pools, and V3 positions.

## Swap tokens

When you swap, Topokki checks available V2 and V3 pools and shows you a quote before you confirm. This helps you see what you can receive and how much the trade may move the price.

## V2 pools

V2 is the simple way to provide liquidity. You deposit two tokens into a pool and receive LP tokens that represent your share. Your funds are always available for trading.

## V3 positions

V3 lets you choose the price range where your funds are available for trading. You earn fees while the market price is inside that range.

A narrower range can use your funds more efficiently, but it can go out of range sooner. V3 is best for users who want more control and are comfortable checking their position.

<Note>
  Prices can move before a transaction is confirmed. Always check the quote and minimum received before you approve a swap.
